MARCH 2020
Looks like March is coming in like a lamb 🐑 this year...wonder if we'll see the lion 🦁 before the end of the month?!? Whatever happens, may it be a 🍀lucky 🧲🌈time for all of us!
This Week:
It's hard to believe, but this is the first week of the final term for the '19-20 school year! Where has the time gone?!? We're blessed with some beautiful weather to go along with our later sunsets that begin this week...hope everyone remembered to "spring forward"!
Our Spring Fundraiser continues, so...it's also time to sell those chocolate bars!🍫🍫
Students will need signed permission slips in order to get their box of 40 chocolate bars, or they may be picked up in the office. I know that at least one friend in 2A has sold multiple boxes already!
It's time!! Start thinking about next school year...the time to reregister is NOW! Please let myself, or anyone in our Lower Mills office know if you need assistance with this! There are PRIZES for students, teachers, and the whole class-the more students registered, the better our chances of winning!!! 2A has 6 friends(all ladies-where are our gentlemen???)registered for Grade 3 next year...that's just 1/4 of our class, we need your help to be the first class to finish registration!
Grades closed last Friday(3/6);
Report Cards will be sent home this Friday(3/13) and Parent Conferences will be 3/20!
The schedule for conferences went home in folders on Friday, along with a check-in note full of important information! Please check with your students to be sure you get yours!!!
We have joined in a "Lenten Almsgiving" project with St. Gregory Parish. We are collecting gift cards & needed items for the young women and their children at St. Mary's Center in Uphams Corner. Please see Ms. Warshafsky's recent email for the full list of requested items.
A site suggested by our Academy Math Coach to work on those math skills is: bedtimemath.org
A few friends have tried it already-it's fun, quick and easy to use on computer, tablet or phones!!
Looking Ahead:
Report cards will be sent home on Friday (3/13), followed up the next week with Parent Conferences (3/20)~Our conference time schedule was sent home Friday(3/6.
Grade 2A will visit the Lower Mills library on March 12th and March 25th. Remember to bring library cards & books to return!
Monday, March 30, is a Professional Day for teachers.
No School for students!
Please also check the monthly LM calendar for more information about school-wide events...
***The Peace & Unity prayer will be recited by our school community each day. We invite you to also use this prayer with your families.
Loving Savior, you send me out to restore peace:
with my family, with my friends, and with my classmates.
And with your guidance,
I will know how to be a peacemaker.
I can be courageous when it comes to reconciling with others.
Please give me your gift of peace and may we all be united in you as we seek a better world. AMEN
